Introducing WAONA

A technology company built in Kenya — making our own products and engineering custom solutions for businesses that want to move forward.

Today we’re introducing WAONA. The name comes from Swahili — waona, “they see” — and it describes how we want to work: look closely at real problems, see where they’re heading, and build technology that moves them forward.

WAONA does two things. We build our own technology products, starting with WAONA Tickets, our platform for discovering, selling and checking in to events across Kenya. And we engineer custom solutions for businesses that have outgrown spreadsheets and off-the-shelf tools.

Everything we make is guided by three principles: trust, innovation and practical impact. That means secure, dependable systems; modern tools used only where they genuinely help; and success measured by what changes for the people using them.

On this blog we share how we work, practical guides for growing businesses and lessons from running our own products. Our founder’s advice to anyone with an idea is simple: just start.
